Dale Gnidovec, Curator, Orton Geological Museum
For more than 25 years, Gnidovec has served as the collections manager (and now Curator) of the Orton Geological Museum in the Department of Geological Sciences. Gnidovec is charged with managing a collection of over 50,000 rocks, minerals and fossils. He also cares for the museum’s exhibit hall, gives guided tours and identifies rocks, minerals, fossils, and bones that are brought into the museum, and speaks to over 4 thousand people a year. As part of his efforts to educate the public about geology, Gnidovec writes a geology column in the Columbus Dispatch.
